We took many pictures around the big church and on our way back, we stopped by the beach in Alappuzha, where we had loads of fun. We even tried out a camel ride on the beach. It was a great experience indeed.

New Year Celebration 2010

Our New Year celebrations were nothing but loads of fun. We went first to Menaka, to watch a live entertainment show and music night and our next stop was none other than Fort Cochin, which was getting ready for the Cochin Carnival and was abuzz with tourists and New Year party revelers. We came to office after that and had a late dinner and burnt firecrackers and cut the New Year Cake.Then came the most fun part of it all- a long bike ride through the streets of Cochin to enjoy the illuminations and the festive mood!

I went on a 2 day trip to Munnar from office on October 2nd. We were a group of over 25 staff members and it was a nice trip with lots of fun and excitement. We stayed in the Tea garden Resort in Munnar. We went on trekking and spotted the Nilgiri Tahr ( an endangered species) at the rugged hills of Rajamala and took many snap shots. It was a trip to relax and unwind leaving the routine office work behind for two full days!

Guruvayur – The most revered temple of Kerala

Recently I went to Guruvayur temple with Sreejesh, Praveen and Vijay from Cochin by 8.30 pm train. We reached Guruvayur at 11 pm, then we took bath in the temple pond. The pond was teeming with fishes. Then we stood in the queue from 11.30 onwards to have darshan when the temple opens at 3 am. Though it was heavily crowded, we managed to have a good darshan. It was one of the most memorable experiences in my life.

Festive day!

One fine Saturday from Cochin we started to Praveen's house which is near Vadakkancherry for attending a temple festival renowned as “Kannambra Vella”. On Sunday, we started on a good note. It was a sunny day, and that was the first time in my life I saw 14 elephants, which were paraded for the temple festival. Standing tall on either side of two deshams (village) each side had 7 elephants. First, we all went to the temple in the morning and saw a huge temple ground where the festivity was going on. Preparations for fireworks were getting completed in the morning and people started to gather from near by locations. Praveen's mother gifted all of us Mundu to wear for the temple festival. Praveen is a very lucky person to have such a loving mother. Near to Praveen's house at 2 pm onwards the festivity from our side (one desham) started with 7 decorated elephants standing and people gathered to witness this majestic scene. Chenda melam and claps echoed the whole place. It was really nice to see the chenda melam artists (percussionists) performing. At around 5.30 pm the fireworks started which was really amazing to see. I have never ever seen and heard that much sound and light before. Really we all had a rocking time at Praveen's home.

Munnar Trip

I went to Munnar with my chittappa (uncle) to see his new house. The bus journey from Cochin to Munnar was a memorable exeprience. The bus wound its way along lush green tea gardens and verdant mountains. Chittappa's house was set amidst pretty surroundings and a well maintained garden and lawn. In Munnar, majority of the local population are from TamilNadu and it is a really nice place to visit, believe me.The river, in front of the house added to the charm of the house.

Two Days Trip

On 07 Feb 09 we took the train from Cochin and went to Praveen's house. In the train we worked on the laptop and took a lot of photos using praveen's Sony Cam. In Thrissur we enjoyed a lavish dinner comprising of Parota, Chapati, Ghee rice in Spoon Restaurant- a nice experience! We took a few snapshots as well. From there we went to Praveen's house at Vadakkanchery by bus. We managed to grab a siesta ; woke up at 2.30 pm and we spend our time having a jolly good chat and catching up with the movie, Ghajini in Praveen's sony Dvdx player.

The next day morning on Sunday, we spend our time clicking away a lot of snaps in and around Praveen's house- a quiet and beautiful village far from the bustle and hustle of the city life. At noon we visited an Old age Home near Praveen's house, which was one of the most memorable experiences in my life. Thanks to Praveen for taking us there. Back home, we were served an exceptional Kerala Lunch, which was delicious. Praveen's family was very happy and caring for us and I would never forget his family in my life. Soon after, we left to Trichur to attend a marriage function near Thrissur. There, I saw lot of beautiful houses, each one entirely different from the other! To be frank, I have never seen such houses in my native place of TamilNadu. It was time for us to return and at 7 pm we took a train from Thrissur to Cochin. We were lucky enough to get into the moving train, thanks to Praveen for helping us in those moments.

Orphanage Experience

I took a 4 day break from my job from 29 Jan 2009 to go to Trichy. On 29 Jan 2009, we observed the 4^th death anniversary of my Dad Mr.Srinivasan. On that day my family arranged a lunch for 103 girls of Annai Orphanage situated at the Airport Road in Trichy. There i met the Secretary of the Orphanage, we spoke about the activities of the orphanage for about 20 minutes there. That was one of the most memorable experiences of my life.

This is my first major New Year celebration in my life as I have never celebrated it ever before in this scale. It was a great experience. Thejal Sir told us to celebrate it in the office itself. So, after the celebration, we slept in the office. We each contributed 250 Rs and Venu sir prepared Chicken for us with porata for dinner. We had a nice time altogether.

X-Mas Celebration

On Dec 17 2008 we celebrated company's 3rd anniversary as well as X-mas celebration in Helpmego.To. It was a memorable occasion in my life. I acted as a Chennai News Reporter in one of the skits before dancing the steps of Rajanikanth in the film Padayappa during the function. Thejal Sir and his wife were very happy and enjoyed every moment of this celebration that was held in our office. Mr.Sholto Sir and Mark Sir also conveyed their wishes to us. After an enjoyable day a pale of gloom set in when I fell down from my bike for the first time in my life! By God's grace there were no injuries to me or major damages to the vehicle except for a broken mirror and a damaged front brake.

I went to Trichy on 29th Nov on a one day leave to attend Mani's Marriage. I bought a Dinning Table Set from Cochin. I met Chandrasekar in the morning at the central bus stand and we went to my house. At around 3pm, Arun came to Chandrasekar Hotel. Then I picked him to my house where we all had Chicken Biriyani which my mom prepared for us. Then, all three of us went in my car to buy the wedding gift. We purchased a gold Coin and headed straight to the marriage venue . On the way we stayed in puthukottai Hotel where we had a great time. I enjoyed the drive as well as the lengthy chat session with my friends. On 30th Nov morning, we went to Mani's marriage at ponamaravathi. Mani was very happy to see us as many of our other friends were unable to attend the marriage. There i met Subbiah, Jagan, Ramakarthick and Ramdinesh. We spend half the day there and went to the village temple and also took some photos. Everything went on well and we all enjoyed a lot. This day was something really special to me.
